Month One

WOW! What a journey so far and it's ONLY just begun!
One month FLEW by and was full of new and exciting things!
I was able to get out and do a mommy thing by myself. I went to lunch at Chick-fil-a and then to get my hair highlighted and trimmed. As soon as I made it to Katy I was missing Jace BIG TIME! Its so funny how you think you want to get out alone but once you do you are consumed by the urge to just be home with your child! Justin did great taking care of Jace while I was out but I was so happy to get back home to both of my boys! :)
I have been putting Jace on his belly to sleep for naps since that is the only time he will let me do "tummy time". If he is awake he HATES it! I kept thinking he would never learn to pick his head up while on his tummy because we never get to practice it.

Jace smiled at Justin and I for the first time on the 16th of August.
It melts my heart! After he smiled that one time we were able to get him to smile many more times. Oh SO SWEET!!
Here is a picture I was able to catch of him smiling.

We went to the doctor, Jace was diagnosed with reflux and was put on Zantac to help. I PRAY it works because it is very difficult to get him to nurse due to it.
He is steadily growing - on the lower end of average but growing :)

Here is our first monthly picture - I will try to do this picture with the same set up every month for his first year to show the growth and changes he will go through!

Playing Catch Up....

I have been behind on updating the blog but I have a VERY good reason :)

Jace is 3 weeks old now and things are getting easier by the day.

I plan to go back and add posts about the labor then week one, two and three.....I am hoping to be able to really stay on top of this for those of you that like to follow my blog.

Well, nursing is difficult with no hands - so I am ending this post. Just wanted to let you know that the blog is not over.

Week Three

My family on my mom's side came to visit. Mawmaw, Nanny, Uncle Greg and Ethan all came in from Louisiana to visit. Although I was tired and it was a short visit, I really appreciated seeing them.
Mawmaw loving on Jace!
Ethan did great holding Jace - even if Jace was crying.
I remember when E-Man was this little! :)
He has gotten so big and SUPER smart!
Uncle Greg

My Nanny rocking Jace

Yikes - I look pretty rough but I had VERY good reason too
That little bundle of joy keeps mama BUSY! :)
Three Generations
We were invited to a party with Jace's other cousins!
It was nice to get out of the house for more than just a doctor appointment.
We had fajitas and sweets.......I had a small sample of a margarita but WHOA!!! a few sips and I was woozy - I could not handle it plus I didn't want it to affect Jace either.
Jace's cousins are pretty close in age....
Jace (2.5 weeks), Brayden (11 weeks), and Ryker (6 months)

Three Weeks old!!
Still in that baby acne stage LOL

Next up.....One Month :)

Week Two

Thursday we had a doctor appointment, newborn pictures AND visitors!
We had a lactation consultant last week realize that Jace was slightly tongue tied which answers a lot on why he seemed to have issues with nursing. We had to get the frenulum (small skin attached under the tongue) clipped. He hardly cried - as a matter of fact I cried harder than he did. Thank God babies don't have great memories. He would hate me for all the poking and prodding they do to him.
Later that day we had our Newborn pictures done by Lauren. That was fun. He cooperated well for being only 8 days old! :)
Papa Bryan, Uncle Nathan, Aunt Kiki, and Lincoln came to visit Jace.
WHEW !!! What a busy day!!
Papa Bryan loving on Jace
Uncle Nathan, Aunt Kiki and Lincoln

I am 2 weeks old and I love my swing!

Long skinny legs!! :)
