Super Silly

*pause music on left sidebar before watching videos*

I wanted to just share some cute clips and picture :)

He was being super silly on the way home yesterday
He loves to talk and laugh at himself in the mirror I use to put on the visor to see him.

He started to get whiny so I whined back to him and he thought it was too funny! :)

Jace wanted to put the Beco on this morning so I helped him put it "on"

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter from the Bryan Cousin's!!!!
(well half of the cousins)

Grant, baby Conley, Lincoln and Jace

Jace did great with his surgery on Thursday. They put in a new set of tubes and removed his adenoids all in about 30 minutes. The recovery took longer than the surgery itself!
He was grumpy and pretty disoriented when waking up but that's expected since they had to do IV sedation rather than the gas they normally do with just tubes.

We were instructed to only let Jace eat soft foods for a couple weeks after the surgery. I was NOT prepared for that at all. Apparently the scabs on the adenoids can come off if you eat sharp foods and that would cause bleeding, delaying healing.
Since Jace was in a pretty good mood after the surgery we went to the grocery store to get a few things we knew he would eat. Jace LOVES crunchy foods so this soft food diet I knew was going to be frustrating. I just had to keep reminding myself that he WILL eat when he is hungry - Crunchy foods or not!

Daddy and Jace playing with a slinky waiting for surgery

Hugging a towel on the way home from surgery - All smiles!

Not a face that looks like he just had surgery 11 hours before this!
We went to Lexington after the surgery and the next day we were working more on the barn. We were getting the floors clean so we can seal the concrete.
Thank God for my Beco! Jace took a long nap while I swept and JB buffed the floor.
Sleeping in the Beco
Saturday we went to Cade and Ian's house for a crawfish boil! YUM! The crawfish was some of the best crawfish I have had in AGES!!!
While we were there Jace sat down and saw Toy Story 3 on......he was mesmerized! He sat and watched that movie many times for 10-15 minutes at a time. The LONGEST he has ever sat to watch a show. I don't know if he is getting to that age or if Toy Story 3 is like toddler crack! LOL

Easter morning we went to church, came home, napped and then had Easter with Jace.
Jace's Easter Basket

Mmmm....Chocolate!

You mean all this candy is for ME?!?!

This time we actually got a chance to let Jace experience his first Easter egg hunt. He was not quite sure what to do at first but he quickly caught on that the eggs had candy in them! :)

After the egg hunt it was Swing time.....Jace's FAVORITE!

This weekend was a lot of fun!
The downside was that I saw WAY more seizures in the few days than I have in over a month. I hate this and it breaks my heart! Its like we get one thing fix - his ears - and we have to face seizures.
I have noticed in the past that when his seizures are not well controlled he spits up. He was spitting up a lot this weekend and I dont' know if it was because of seizures or recovering from the anesthesia and all. Either way, spit up is gross, it stinks and its frustrating since I know that it correlates with his seizure activity.

As promised - here are the Easter and Family pictures that we took.

Oh Happy Days........

will be here soon!!

Jace will be having his surgery for tubes and adenoids tomorrow morning. We have to be there to check in at 6:30 am. No food or drink after midnight tonight. This part should be easy considering he is capable of going longer than that without something to eat.
Last year when he had tubes inserted it was much more difficult since he was still nursing and he was still so young.

We ask for you to keep Jace, his doctor, the anesthesiologist and his nurses in your prayers. I know this procedure is very simple but this time it does require IV sedation and not just the gas sedation.
Anyhow, prayer is ALWAYS welcome! :)

I will have to update later with how the procedure, recovery and post op turns out.

If I don't post before Easter....

Eggcelent Weekend

*pause music on left sidebar before watching the video*

Jace's daycare does Parent's Night Out every couple of months.
We pay $25 and drop him off from 7pm - 12 am! I love that they try to help parents keep their relationship healthy and give us chances to be together without the little ones.

Justin's sister and brother in law had 4 tickets to see Wade Bowen perform at the Sam Houston Race Park.
We went to eat at Saltgrass before heading that way. This ate up more time than we wanted.
We realized once we got there that Misty and Zane were more excited about the horse races than they were the concert. Even though dinner was incredibly good we felt bad for taking more time from the races than we had expected. Horse races are pretty fun to watch - even if we don't understand all the numbers and terminology.
My Sweets and I
Saturday morning we got to sleep in just a little bit since Jace went to bed so late. But - sleeping in did NOT come without a price! I heard Jace wake up at 6 am but then he got quiet again. I assumed he went to sleep. Come 8 am we hear him a bit again and JB gets up. He goes in the room and I hear him call for me to come in there. We were greeted by a finger painting masterpiece all over the crib.....wall......pillow......teddy bears.....and blanket of poop!! YUCK!!!

This was after I started to clean up......it was EVERYWHERE!
JB took Jace to shower while I got to clean up poop. What makes this evern funnier is I was JUST telling my sister in law how he hasn't learned how to take off his diaper yet. Boy did he prove me wrong!
If this starts to happen often I will have to take the advice of JB's cousin's wife and transition him to a toddler bed to prevent him getting "bored" in his crib when he wakes up. But first I am going to try to keep him in PJ's that zip up or snap up.....no more loose pants for a while!

After breakfast Jace was playing with Lil Bit. I love to watch them play - he is too funny the way he acts with her and she seems to enjoy him playing with her too.

We had to go to the medical center area for an Easter party. I get anxiety everytime we go into that area. It brings back all those terrible feeling I had each and everytime Jace was admitted or had to go to the doctor.
It was nice to know this time we were going to this area for some FUN!

The company we work for put on an Easter Party for the kids every year. This year they had it at the Houston Zoo! I was so excited about this since Jace had never been. He also had never done an Easter Egg hunt. Well....we ended up getting to the zoo just late by 3 minutes and missed the egg hunt for his age group! :( I was going to let him go with the 3-4 year old but they were WAY bigger than him and much rougher so we will have to look into an egg hunt at home or elsewhere.
Even though we missed the egg hunt we still got a chance to get his face painted! He was a bunny...and the cutest bunny ever I might add!

They had the Easter bunny at the zoo and Jace was NOT going to have that! He FREAKED when I tried to put him in the Easter bunny's lap! LOL I don't blame him - those Easter bunnies are scary looking. So I stood next to the Easter bunny holding Jace for a quick picture. I don't have it since work took the picture so I will have to post it later if they have it uploaded at work.

We did get a bunch of other pictures from the zoo.

Running to Dada

Babywearing at the Zoo

Mommy loves Giraffes

Dada holds me - I hold Dada's face

Was Dat Dada?

To be honest the zoo was not much fun....it was nap time for almost all the animals we saw. Next trip we are going in the morning and hoping they are all frisky!

Next up....the petting zoo! Well the goats since that is all they had in there :)
Jace LOVED the goats.
He would bend over and look at the ones asleep like "hey what are you doing?? wake up!"

After a VERY thorough hand washing it was break and snack time......

mmmmm......strawberries!

Ok lets go to the park now!!
After the zoo we went to Hermann Park next door to the zoo.
We have been here once before the day we "broke out" of the hospital the last stay with Jace :)
This time Jace actually got to play!

The BEST part of the day was the water play area in Hermann Park.
A little unsure at first.....
AWESOME water......!!!!!

Already picking up the ladies

If you're happy and you know it.....

.....clap your hands!

Jace was getting so excited he was making fists, squeezing them and grunting! LOL it was GREAT!

Nothing but pure joy on this face!

This made the WHOLE day for all of us!
It was time to go home after our impromptu water play time!

CHEESE!
When we made it home we all rested very well! JB and I watched the Notebook and Jace went to sleep.
We had Easter pictures to get ready for on Sunday!

These were not the best as Jace was cranky Sunday.
He was not happy about being photographed in a small room! HA!
We got a few good family shots and of just Jace. I will have to post them later when I have them all.
You can't beat free sitting and $3.99 a sheet at JC Penny's. They aren't the BEST pictures but they do fine in a pinch. We were in dire need of updated family pictures :)

I found some flush mounting brackets at Home Depot and we hung Jace's growth Chart and even took his first mearsurement!

I am pretty proud of myself! It matches his room PERFECT!
I have to give credit to Lisa for helping me match these all together.
