Less than 50 Days To Go....

Last Wednesday Justin and I attended a Breast Feeding Class at the hospital. I felt like it gave me some knowledge that I did not have before and will be very helpful. I plan to breastfeed and I am determined to make it work. The class was pretty late after work but worth the time and money. I went back to the doctor on Thursday for my regular bi-weekly checkup. Jace's heart rate was 154 and I am only measuring 1/2 a week ahead now. I am glad the growth has slowed down - I was worried for a while that we would end up with a 10 lb baby!

Thursday was also my sister’s birthday – she turned 20! That makes me feel OLD!!! She seems to grow and mature everyday! I am proud of her and glad to have her as a sister!

Justin’s dad got us our Travel system and we were able to put that together Thursday evening….I LOVE the travel system. It is gender neutral enough to be used for future children as well. We just need to install the car seat and get it inspected now!

The weekend was full and fun!
We took Friday off from work to go to Lake Somerville with a couple from work. I LOVE being in and around the water these days! It’s the perfect way to cool off! Justin had a blast wakeboarding and landed two flips - it has been a while since he has landed his flips. He makes it look so easy!
I have never wakeboarded - yet - I can't wait to try but I will have to wait until next year to try that out.

Saturday was the shower which I have already posted about - and I have to say Thank You again to the hostesses and the guests! It was fun and we got a lot of great things for Jace!
We also got the news at the shower that Drew and Sheri had their little boy – Brayden Daniel!

This was the last weekend we planned to go to Lexington before Jace's arrival so Misty and Derek invited us over for a BBQ. It was so sweet of them to cook dinner and have us over. We also got to visit with little Ms. Keely again. She is just so darn cute!! They have a heartbreaker on their hands! It is so precious how Trey is sweet to her. He is going to be a good big brother! Not only did we get to visit with Misty and Derek but Tierra and Matt came over as well with their little boy – Gabe. Seeing the two boys play was entertaining! They are in the stage where they play with each other but they don’t want to share….heheheh.

We headed back home early on Memorial Day. I know we will be back to Lexington after Jace is here but it was a little sad to think that was the last time we will be there for over 2 months! I love visiting Lexington – its take me out of the fast city life and grounds me. There is always something beautiful to take in there.
Once we made it home we cleaned and then decided to go grocery shopping and buy a much needed new laptop. It was an early anniversary gift for the two of us. Now I just need to find the time to transfer all the pictures and files over from the old laptop.
After we went shopping we set up the pack n play – easy to assemble but may not be that easy to collapse and put up when traveling. Then again I am not use to using it yet either.

Going back to work Tuesday after a 4 day weekend is always hard. What made the day was going to visit the new addition, Brayden. We brought over dinner from Chick-fil-a for the new parents and loved on the new baby. He is so incredibly adorable! He has yet to look like either parent yet but he does look like a cabbage patch doll. Those cheeks were too cute!

After a bit we headed home to find a package from Justin’s oldest brother’s family. I was excited to see what they sent and when we opened it we found our 6 pc. Bedding set for Jace’s nursery!! Thank you so much Marty, Roxanne, McKaley, Madison and Brooks! The bedding looks even better in person!!

Getting the bedding in set me on a mission to start setting things up in the nursery. I got so involved I lost track of time and ended up going to bed later than usual and even when I was in bed I couldn’t sleep – I felt like I still needed to work more in the nursery! I should know better since we have one more shower – after that I can really work on it. I know I will change how things are set up in there 5 times before it’s done and over with.
But the little bit that I did do you can see in the pictures…..

Only 7 weeks left – less than 50 days now!!
I can’t believe how time is flying!

I have been getting a new pregnancy related issue – I have been waking up at night to numb hands and in the morning they are SO swollen!!
I can’t imagine getting my rings on in the morning. I can get them on later in the day but in the morning my hands are horrible!
I am trying to drink more water to see if that helps but I think I will just ask the doctor what is going on. It’s pretty painful at time.
My ankles swell but that is at the end of the day after I have been up and going – this whole swelling over night and waking up like that is new. I know my blood pressure is normal so I am not worried about that. Hopefully drinking extra water will help out……..

Lexington Baby Shower

Our Lexington Baby Shower was today!
It was fun and so nicely done!
I have to thank Staci, Cathy, and Kristen on making my shower as nice as they did!

Here is the entrance table where everyone that came in signed a little shirt that had Jace's name on it and they put some "mommy" advice on a card.

Staci still has the advice cards - she said she is not finished with them yet - wonder what she is doing with them.....she is creative!

Isn't this shirt just TOO CUTE?!?!?!?

Food time - there was a lot of food but it was YUMMY!!!

The cute baby cake that Staci made! I tell you - she is creative!
I LOVED how he had little individual toes! Precious!

More of Staci's creativity - she made a UT diaper cake!

I have not busted it open yet but I think she said there are washcloths in the middle?

I forgot :( but I will know soon enough - those are newborn diapers and will be used!

I love the UT Mr. Potato Head - Jace has no choice but to be a Longhorn!

Here are all the gifts we got! It was awesome to get stuff we really need for this little man! I can't wait to set it all up in his nursery!

It is hard to see but there is a homemade UT blanket and football hooded towel with the gifts up there. Cathy - who is a BIG Aggie fan - sacrificed and made Jace those two gifts!
THANK YOU CATHY!

I know how painful it was to even THINK about buying that material!

The CUTEST John Deere Camo boots from Aunt KiKi, Nathan, Grant and Lincoln - I can't wait to see Jace in them!

Yeah I was not working well with the camera.....LOL

Socializing time.......

The Hostess gift I mentioned in my last post.......it was a compilation of Bath and Body Works goodies!

It included a scented candle, pillow/linen spray, lavender massage oil, bubble bath and SUPER soft lounge socks!

I know how planning a shower can be - so I felt the hostesses should be given the tools to relax afterwards!

Maternity Pictures....

We had out maternity pictures taken this past weekend by Lauren - Like a Bird Photography.
She was a BLAST to do pictures with and really brought out our playful fun side in front of the camera! I can't wait to do more pictures with her for newborn through one year and then on!
She has found a loyal customer for sure!
Thank you Lauren!! :)

OK so I wish I could post them ALL on here but that would be a HUGE POST!!!
So if you do not have Facebook or MySpace, and want to see them all you can go to Lauren's blog:
She took over 900 pictures - of course she could not edit ALL of those but she did do almost 50!!
I can't wait to see if there are other great pictures she took on the CD she is sending us.

Today is our breastfeeding class at the hospital - I hope to gain some knowledge there that I do not have now. I am sure I will - just hope its not a class of them trying to persuade you to breastfeed. I don't need that, I am set on trying with all my determination to breastfeed!

I went shopping for the hostess gifts and really found cute stuff - next week AFTER the shower I will share with you what I got the hostesses for gifts. I made a gift box myself for them! I hope they like it! I know they deserve it for planning this shower for me! Shower planning is HARD work!

This coming weekend is the baby shower for Lexington! I am excited but also anxious about it - I don't like to be the center of attention and that's what showers are all about. Showering YOU!
It will be fun and I will survive!

Here are my 32 week belly pictures - I am growing BIG time......the size seems to change as he changes positions though - so some days I feel larger than others.

Garner State Park and Nesting...

I started to clean the clothes today that were given to us so far.
When I threw it all in a basket I was surprised to see how much clothing we have for this little guy - and he isn't even here yet!!!
This is great because I know he will need more than one outfit a day and he will outgrow stuff pretty quickly!! I am glad I started on this so that I can organize the dressers and closet with all these clothes!

I can finally see and feel Jace's hiccups from the outside! He seems to get them 2-3 times a day! And normally after I eat something spicy - I hope he enjoys spicy foods because that is what I have been wanting and he has been getting! :)

This past weekend we went to Garner State Park with Justin's friend from high school and his fiance. When we arrived it was HOT!!! It was 105 degrees - thankfully it cooled off over night.

I had never been to Garner but Justin went there all the time growing up. It was fun to see where he spent some of his time when he was younger. I also had never floated a river and because the Frio River was so low I still didn't get to.

We were able to float part of the river that was right by our campsite. It wasa small area but it had quite a current to it - it was a BLAST!

It was nice to relax in the cool water but the best part was seeing our little dog, Lil Bit, go crazy in the water! We put her in the shallow 3-4 inches of water to walk around and get cool. She tested her footing and at one point Justin called her to him (he was in the deeper 4 foot of water) and she ran to him falling into the deeper water. After that she swam back and started to haul but around in circles on the rocks in the shallow water! It was HILARIOUS!!!!

I actually enjoyed the whole camping trip more than I expected! I was not uncomfortable too much and I was actually able to sleep - even in the heat!

I didn't get any pictures from Garner State Park because I forgot my camera! I was so upset but I have memories and we have plans to go back there FOR SURE! Its beautiful there!

Sunday when we got back home I had an urge to clean - so I scrubbed down my bathroom BIG TIME! I am guessing that was a slight touch of nesting. I keep thinking I have 9 weeks left and 7 rooms left to hit hard and clean! I think I can do it!

This coming weekend are Maternity Pictures!! We also get to go see Baby Keely - she was born on Friday the 8th! I bet she is GORGEOUS!!! I can't wait!

Here is my belly at 31 weeks!!

Jace has less and less space to move but he still keeps it going and fortunately its during the day!!

Easy Breezy...

Wednesday night was rough for me and I was glad to get to the doctor on Thursday.
There was a stomach bug going around work the past week and I must have gotten it. I thought I had it Monday night and was over it. Boy was I WRONG!
Wednesday night it hit me again but this time I started to have cramping in my lower belly that wrapped from my back, hips and radiated down my legs. Since it was spread like that I was worried. I was not sure if it was contractions but I had a feeling they weren't. The pain was a constant pain that last for a full hour. Once it subsided I was able to sleep until the pain woke me back up an hour later. That episode lasted another hour and then it was over enough for me to sleep. The next morning I woke up and was achy and still not feeling great. When I got into work I called the doctor to be safe and see if they wanted to see me earlier than my afternoon appointment already scheduled. Since they were really booked that morning they told me to wait it out unless I am in tears again like I was the night before. Over the day I started to feel a bit better - not 100% but better.
What was funny is just the other day I was talking about how EASY BREEZY this pregnancy has been for me - then WHAM! I get a rough night like Wednesday! Thankfully it was nothing and just my body getting over that stomach bug.
I made it to the doctor appointment originally scheduled and it went well.
Jace's heart rate was 145 - the past almost 2 months it was 155.
That just means he is getting bigger and that heart is a STRONG little heart!
I am only measuring one week ahead still, he is slowing his growth some and giving me a break - I was starting to run out of room in this belly!
Today I am feeling SO much better! I was able to sleep very well and only woke up once to pee! My normal is 2-3 times a night! It was awesome to have uninterrupted sleep!
We are going to Garner State Park this weekend to go camping! It will be HOT but fun!
I was instructed to stay very hydrated and I will do so! Don't need pre-term contractions starting just because I didn't drink enough water! I will have to post about our camping trip next week!
HAVE A HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY WEEKEND!!

A Dirty Lexington Homecoming...

This past weekend was Lexington Homecoming!
It is a lot of fun even when you are sober. The experience is very different when you are sober, and this was my 2nd Homecoming in a row that I was sober for.
Last year I found out I was pregnant the first day of Homecoming so I was the "designated driver" that weekend! Unfortunately we lost that baby but here we are a year later and I am 10 weeks away from meeting this little one that is growing strong!
What else was different about this year was my belly was the center of attention Friday night. Anyone that knows me well knows I don’t like to be the center of attention. I handled it well but I honestly felt so out of it because it really was just...well... overwhelming. Thankfully I was able to get some entertainment from it because everyone there was well intoxicated and some of the stuff they said was funny.
Saturday we enjoyed the parade and then checked out the 1940 miniature replica of Lexington. It was really neat to see it all scaled down to size and what the town looked like back then!
I have been trying for 3 years to go see this replica and I finally got the chance.
After that, Justin and I entered the washer tournament. Since I had just learned how to play washers the week before Homecoming I was not good. Because of the lack of my talent we were eliminated pretty quickly. I think it was a combination of my experience and my back had been killing me. Since we own washer boards now I may be able to work on my skill. :)
Justin and I went and met some friends to go mudding. I had planned not to join and just sit and watch. When we got out there I realized that it was not that rough looking so I rode in Big Red. I was really excited to get a chance to join in on the fun since I have never been before.
We went back up to the square again on Saturday night and it was less overwhelming.
We sat around and visited with friends.

Big Red Muddin'

Dirty Big Red

The doctors office called me on Tuesday to tell me that the thyroid test came back normal!
I am so happy that this pregnancy is really going to smoothly so far!
I pray it continues that way too!
I have my next appointment tomorrow -
I will post about that if there is anything special that happens.

Jace has been very active this week. I think he is trying to keep me awake since the weekend wore me out. I also noticed that he has been getting hiccups everyday, even 2-3 times a day!
Here is my 30 week belly!
