Bumps and Bubble Baths

Today was Jace's 2nd follow up appointment with is neurosurgeon. It was great timing too!
Yesterday evening Jace was in his footed PJs playing. Being brand new PJs you would think the gripper bottoms of the PJs would be pretty good. Not the case!
Jace was chasing after his new remote control car around the door frame from the living room and the entrance. He slipped and hit his head on the corner of the door frame. Not just his head but right on his incision! Talk about scary!! He popped right back up and seemed fine but once we saw the small goose egg coming up we knew we had to ice it.

These pictures don't show how scary it looked on that incision!

Thankfully he loves Mickey Mouse so much I was able to have him watch it on my phone while I put ice on his head - twice before going to bed. We gave him some ibuprofen to help with any pain he may have and pray like crazy that no big damage was done!

Today Justin took Jace to see Dr. Tandon. We thought for SURE after telling the doctor about his fall that we would have to get a helmet for him to wear to daycare. We were wrong!
One of the first things JB told the doctor was that he fell. He said he can tell and pointed to the bump Jace has on the front of his head. Justin said that's not where he hit his head and showed him the back spot.
The front spot he is talking about is that bald spot you can see in this pic:

The doctor asked Justin if that had gone down at all and really it hasn't much. He said we should keep any eye on it and not to touch it. It should go down but do not touch it or the hair may not grown back there.
I am thinking the main issue with that spot is more cosmetic than anything. We decided if we don't see any progress on it decreasing I will tell the doctor in about a month.
The good news is the bump on the head did no damage and he was not concerned at all! YAY!!
We don't have to come back to see him until 6 months post op. This summer is going to be BUSY!!
Dr. Von Allmen mentioned getting a MRI 6 months postop but Dr. Tandon said he doesn't think he needs him to have it done. Since Dr. Von Allmen will to monitor the TSC portion then we will have to get one done. He needs them annually at this point.

I am looking into going to the Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas for Jace's scans.
It would save us SO much money! They accept children with TSC and its free.

Ok.....done with the boring stuff ;)

I had to record Jace saying Corn and Door......he has an accent and its hilarious!!

He was being really silly with the flash that my phone felt it needed to take the video :)

After this video I asked Jace if he wanted a Bubba or Sissy - he almost ALWAYS says Sissy!
The other day he even asked Justin "hey Dada, where sissy?" Seriously!
He surprises us with random sentences - its pretty crazy!
Maybe he has a sense of what this baby is....

Santa brought Jace some Buzz Bubble Bath. Tonight was his first bubble bath!
He LOVED it!

Trying to eat the bubbles....eeeewwwwwww

All SMILES!

BUBBLES? :)

Making Room....

Justin and I have been wanting to get Jace into the full size bed we have in the guest room.
The guest room will become the baby room and Jace's crib will be back to being a real crib.

Jace got sheets from his Aunt Mitty and Uncle Zane for Christmas. All we were missing was a comforter set.
We found a set that matching his room pretty well yesterday.
Today Justin started to move the beds and we have Jace's big bed all set up.

It makes me sad thinking about how much he is growing up!

The bed makes my baby boy look like a big boy but he is so tiny compared to that bed! LOL
It also makes the room look SO small!
*there is a toddler rail - its just folded down in this pic ;)

The crib has been reassembled, moved into the guest/play room and ready to be decked out in the new bedding. I am still having a hard time finding fabric that I like. I think its because I am getting swatches and maybe not able to see the big picture..... I don't know?

Because of this I am getting more and more tempted to just find out what we are having. There are so many options for girl or boy but the neutral look can be difficult when you are making your own bedding.

I had almost forgotten about Jace's baby boots! Those were technically his "first" pair of boots. These were from his Aunt Kiki and Uncle Nathan.
Look how tiny they are compared to his boots now!
If you would have asked me 2 years ago if Jace would be wearing those boots I would have said no way!!
Boy would I have been wrong!

Jace's new lounging spot to watch TV seems to be on his trike!
He props his legs up on the handle bars and lounges.
He figured thats the best seat to watch some college football!
What a boy!

Happy Birthday Jesus!

I LOVE this Christmas song! I will have to say its my favorite!
What makes it even sweeter this that little girl's precious voice!

We had Christmas with The Bryan's on Friday night. As little space as there is for all of us we all seemed to manage and the kids had a blast! :)
Look at this mess they made!!!

Justin and I did not win aunt or uncle of the year. With all the surgery stuff going on we were not told about us buying for the nieces and nephews. We showed up empty handed yet Jace was given 2 gifts! :(
We felt so bad but the younger kids had no clue and the older kids understood.
Next year we will have to communicate better ;)

Conley wearing his brother's new boots! :)
How is he so big already?!
Everyone is getting too big too fast!

On Saturday we had Christmas with Justin's sister and her family. It was fun and the food was delicious!
Shelby and Jordan are getting so big and mature! They are sweet young ladies!
After the past weekend with my parents, The Bryan's and Justin's sister, Jace made out like a bandit!

Santa came to our house!!
Some of the gifts are Jace's from family.....actually the big gifts are from family! LOL

The best gift under the tree is that step stool.....hand made by Santa's elf "JB" ;)

All of us in our Christmas Eve PJ's!

Time to open up gifts!!

Jace LOVES tearing open gifts!!!
He doesn't really seem to care what is wrapped but that it has wrapping!

Christmas Carnage!

After playing for a little bit we all sat down to watch The Lion King!

Cuddling with Mommy!

JB enjoying the movie too

Jace got a Tricycle from his Aunt Mitty and Uncle Zane.....

John Deere Camera - say CHEESE!!

Merry Christmas!!!
Happy Birthday Jesus!

Winter Wrangler - One Month Post Op

The first day of winter has finally come and gone! Where did 2011 go?!!?!?!
Where did the past month go?! I can't believe that yesterday marked Jace being one month post op!
Its exciting! He is learning SO much and it just gets better everyday! Lets pray this continues!

Yesterday Justin took Jace boot shopping - we have had trouble getting his feet to fit in them.
We try here and there and so far no such luck. :(
Justin finally got his feet into some boots but they were too big and they didn't have his size at that store.

While they were there - they played "dress up" - boy style :)

He is ONE handsome fella!

Since they didn't have his size at that Cavender's, JB brought him to the Katy locations after I was off work. We found his size!! They are slightly too big but at the age you have to go with them because the widths are very narrow!

This is what they look like - pretty fancy huh?

You are looking that the next Mutton Bustin' Champion! :)

He seems to like the boots a lot.
He wore them out the store and when we got home he wanted to put them back on!

Justin and I have been wanting to get some pictures on canvas for the house but never bit he bullet to do it.
We found out that our work makes canvas prints and for a very decent price!
We had one of our favorite pics printed - its HUGE and we need to find a place to hang it.
I can't wait to get more :)

Speaking of pictures - I have finally printed all of Jace's monthly pictures for his "First 12 Months" frame.
18 months after those first 12 months and it is complete!

I still have a lot to work on in his baby book though.....I NEED to do that before June Bug is here!
Thank God I wrote all the dates down on my desk calendar! had I been good about posting on the blog when he was a baby I would just assume this blog would be a baby book ;)

So I woke up this morning and it looks like June Bug wants to make his/her presence known!
This belly was NOT there yesterday!

Well HELLO baby!

Maybe its just the clothes....or water retention.....
look how swollen my face looks! LOL
And I woke up with the numb hand yuckiness! There must be some serious swelling going on for that to happen already. Going to just blame that pickle I had before bed to help with my heartburn!
Oh - the joys or pregnancy! ;)

Our Little Elf

We have our very own little elf - Isn't he cute?!!?

Saturday my parents came over to celebrate Christmas with us.
I made some yummy easy to make Chicken n Dumplings with the crock pot (I love that machine!)
I also made 3 dozen cake mix snickerdoodle cookies.
By the end of the night there were only 6 cookies left :)
They must have been very good!

That evening we had our company Christmas Party. Last year was the first time we went to the party and enjoyed it a lot. The party is a formal event but its beautiful. The food is great and the music is even better!
Here are a few pictures we took.....as you can tell from a few that it was late in the evening and after a few drinks for JB...he was getting silly!

Starting to be silly......

Wildness....... LOL

Ryan, Becca, Buddy, Hannah, JB and me

I started back to work today. It was really hard to not be at home all day with my baby boy like I had been.
Its all daddy duty now for the next 2 weeks. Jace will return to daycare on January 3rd. He will also pick up again on his therapy. I am excited about this since I know he will be able to pick up much more.

This morning as I was getting ready for work I received an email that one of our IT guys passed this weekend. It was a very somber day. Please keep his wife and kids in your prayers!

I am entering my 4th month of pregnancy.....where is the time going?!!?! The belly is growing but now near as fast as I was expecting at this point.......thank goodness! LOL
