A Slight Change in Plans...

We had a slight change of plans in the maternity picture plans but it seems we have it all figured out. A girl from Justin’s high school will be doing our pictures and I am so excited! She is absolutely AWESOME and I LOVE her style! I can’t wait to share the pictures after we have then done. We are still doing a session with the previous lady since she had chosen me for a promotional session and to help further her business/advertisement. Hopefully Jace will be here on time for her to do the birthing session since she plans to go out of town for 10 days just 3 days after my due date. What is good is if Jace comes later than we think then we really have not lost out since this birthing session is free for us.

I helped host a baby sprinkle this weekend for my friend Misty! She had a little boy on New Years Eve of 2007 and then found out she was 11 weeks pregnant in November 2008! This came as a surprise to them! Well she found out it is a GIRL so we had to throw her a small shower. Keely can’t wear Trey’s clothes and should not have to use boy things! Since they already have all the big items needed for a baby, this sprinkle was to provide them with all the girl stuff! Along with other items the hostesses put together, I made Keely a hat with a cute pink ribbon on it. The sprinkle was small and intimate but fun! Everyone was able to enjoy food, a few games and each other’s company.

My parents came over on Monday night. I had not seen my dad since my grandfathers funeral 2 months ago. He had stayed in Louisiana to help out other family/friends. Not only did they come over to visit but they came over and cooked dinner and all, it was VERY sweet of them. I walked in and I had some of the most beautiful Iris flowers on my kitchen bar from my dad. They cooked us a meal that is ALWAYS good – Choked Potatoes. We call is poor man food but it is so YUMMY! My dad also attempted to make me white chocolate covered mini Oreos – until the almond bark decided to go haywire on him. The few he was able to make were DELICIOUS! He is heading back to Louisiana soon to finish helping out, I told him he had better be back for when Jace is born! I know he will be – I still had to threaten him – hehehehehe

Yesterday Justin and I ended up with the day off – unplanned. It had been raining ever since Monday afternoon and it poured all night as well. It was enough rain to flood all of West/Northwest Houston. Since we were warned that morning by co-workers how bad the roads were flooded we waited to go into work. We attempted to go around 9:30 am and ended up turning right back around and going home. All the roads we could take to work were impassable and were being blocked off by cops and or cones warning you of high water or the high water itself. There was one possible way to work but all the traffic was going that way and it would have been another 2 hours (if not longer) of traffic to get to Katy Freeway; a trip that would normally be about 10 minutes away from where we had made it to. Once we made it home Justin started to install the nerf bars/step bars on the side of the truck since he had the time. Once they were on there, getting into the truck is much easier now. It was starting to become harder and harder to get into the truck comfortably. While he did that I finished making the other bootie for Jace. I had actually finished one Sunday but it was too big and didn’t match the first one, I had really messed up that bootie. After we decided to go pick up our rings from The Woodlands Mall since they were finished being cleaned and inspected. We made it to I-45 but as soon as we started towards the on ramp we saw nothing but a parking lot – there was high water on the freeway there too! We had to turn around and head back home – a wasted trip! When we made it back home, the rain had stopped long enough to allow Justin to mow the yard. As you can see, our unplanned day off was not very relaxing.

I can’t believe that the weeks are FLYING by like they are! Only 11 more weeks left until Jace is here!! That is 77 days or 2 1/2 months away!

Here is my belly this morning at 29 weeks!!

In the Homestretch......

We decided to start working on the wall letter for Jace's room since everything else we can do for decorating has been done for now. We went to Hobby Lobby and bought some Modge Podge, scrapbook paper with football skin texture look and paint brushes. We had to make a second trip after deciding that this is how we wanted to make the wall letters. That trip we had to get the ribbon, more scrapbook paper (yeah - I messed up - oops) and alternative ways to hang the letters in case the ribbon didn't look right. Oh - and a new pair of scissors since the pair I had was from high school and were horrible!

Here is the finished product!

Friday I went to get my hair done - my roots were getting ridiculous! I wanted to wait as long as I could so that my roots will look good for the maternity picture May 16th and 17th without having to get them done again early. But I had reached my limit and had to take care of these roots!!! Since I had mentioned to my stylist about how bad my roots show she suggested we go just a bit darker on my lower tones and this is the result ...

I like it!

While I was getting my hair colored Justin went to the store for groceries and a surprise for me. Later that evening he surprised me with beautiful white roses!

He told me they were for making it to the 3rd trimester! What a sweetheart huh?

This is why I call him "My Sweets"!

My wedding dress has been sitting in Jace's closet FOREVER!! We finally went on Saturday to drop it off to be cleaned and preserved. We wanted to go to the Crawfish Festival that was going on in Old Town Spring but it was pouring and just plain nasty outside. All we were able to do was drop off the dress and then ride around and see what was going on - which was nothing!

I am glad we finally got the dress taken care of and I hope they can get the red wine stains out! We shall see in 2 months!

While we were in the area, we headed to the Woodlands Mall to drop off our wedding rings to have them inspected, cleaned and rhodiumed before the pictures next month.

They have to be picture perfect!

We had watched the movie Seven Pounds Saturday morning and I must say that it was an incredible movie! HOWEVER, I do not recommend watching it when you are pregnant or hormonally unstable! I cried so hard it was embarrassing! I literally could not help myself. It was a good feeling to let loose and cry it all out though - silly looking or not.

I started to crochet a set of sneaker booties for Jace (just like the ones I made for Ryker)
They seem to be easier to make this time. They are still a pain the butt to make yet oh so worth it! They are so cute!! Here is the first completed - have one more to go before the maternity pictures. I want to use them in a few pictures

Week 28 - Let see how much bigger I have grown...

Anticipation for Nothing...

We tackled the crib last night!!

We were always told that the crib was the hardest piece of furniture to put together and so we thought we were in for it when we got to that point of putting it together.

Well the anticipation was for nothing...

After we opened the box and checked out all the pieces, we realized that it looked way easier than people were said. We decided to go ahead and start putting it together!

It only took us 30 minutes to get this together!

I wanted to add this funny view of my belly!
Its MY view and for now I can see my toes
(which by the way need to be painted again soon)

Oh the HEARTBURN!!!

WOOHOO – I passed my glucose test!!! No gestational diabetes AND I am not anemic!!
Found out Monday that I passed! What a relief!!

The past week or so my appetite has been through the roof!!
I am always hungry BUT I can’t eat enough to satisfy my appetite because then I get HORRENDOUS heartburn!
Nothing seems to touch this heartburn either – it’s so bad I have moments I feel like throwing up from it.
My nanny came down from New Orleans to get my mom and bring her back with her since my dad has been up there for 2 months!
He will be returning home this coming weekend with my mom!
On my nanny’s way in to Houston, she stopped to get Justin the crawfish that he was craving! Not just some crawfish but TEN POUNDS worth!
She came over Tuesday night to bring it to us and it was DE-LISH!!
She really wanted to make sure Jace would not be marked for unfulfilled cravings.
Thank you Nanny!!! We love you!

On my mom’s side of the family they believe that if a pregnant women craves something and she doesn’t get it then the baby is marked – hence a birth mark! We never said it would affect the baby if the same went for the dad but my Nanny went ahead and took care of that.
She wanted to avoid the possibility completely!

Here is my 27 week belly......

Baby Moon Time

Baby Jace in San Antonio!

The baby moon was a lot of fun! It was great to have the chance for Justin and I to get away on a little vacation before the baby comes. First stop was my doctor appointment, scheduled for before we left for San Antonio. This appointment was a check up and to do my glucose test. The only drink choice I had was fruit punch, and it tasted like flat Hawaiian Punch. YUCK! I had to drink that bottle within 3 minutes then wait an hour to get my blood drawn. In that hour I was waiting I saw the doctor and had my usual check up. I am still measuring two weeks ahead and the baby’s heartbeat was 155 again this time. I thought that the sugar drink would have had him going enough so we could hear him kick the Doppler but he was pretty relaxed – or maybe he was in shock with all the sugar I just threw into my body! That was A WHOLE LOT of sugar. I was feeling very weird after that drink! Starting this appointment, I start seeing the doctor every two weeks. My next appointment will be April 23rd. I told my doctor about the maternity pictures I am having and about the birthing session, she offered to let Joanne put up advertisement in her office FREE! It’s great that I can help her out more than we had expected! Not only do I get to model for her but she was able to get some advertisement in at this office now.

After the appointment we were off to San Antonio. The drive was pretty good and went by quicker than anticipated. When we arrived at the hotel and checked in, the front desk told us we had a message that said there was a package for us to pick up at Guest Services. I looked at Justin, thinking he had something planned, and he said “ Don’t look at me, I didn’t plan anything” So, we went and picked up the packages and found this basket full of goodies from Nathan and Amy! It was so sweet of them to do this – we had snacks and drinks for the whole stay. It was full of Gushers, Cracker Jacks, Jacks Link and Cheese, Keebler Cookies, etc……..all yummy stuff!

Once we got all of our bags into the room we went out to move the car from the front to the parking garage. We get in to start the car and it won’t start! I was on the verge of tears thinking our trip was RUINED!! Fortunately, it cranked up after about 10 minutes. We still don’t know what happened – it was on our minds all weekend wondering if the car would start or not – but it faired well and had no more issues. Anyways – on to the fun stuff – we had a blast sightseeing and spending time with each other. We went to the Alamo, a mirror maze (one of my favorite parts of the trip), Buckhorn and Texas Ranger Museum, River Center Mall, Towers of the Americas, San Antonio Missions Baseball game (minor leagues), dinner at Nathan and Amy’s, a smoke-free bar to play pool, on a River Tour and a horse drawn carriage ride. (not necessarily in that order)

River Tour

San Antonio Mission Baseball Game

Towers of the Americas

The mirror maze was one of my favorite parts – we went through twice, once with nothing special and the second time with 3D glasses on! What a BLAST! But my MOST favorite part was the massages we got Friday morning! We went to an academy and got hour massages for the price of half hour massages! Justin and I were pleased and think they were just as good as any other masseuse that is out of school! Since I can’t lay on my belly, I had to lay on my side the whole time but I was VERY relaxed! I think I could use a massage like that every week! I kind of wish we would have planned the massages for Sunday morning or Saturday evening because we did a lot of walking. It seemed that everywhere you go in San Antonio you walk to. However, I am sure that the massage made it easier for me to walk distances like we did. He took quite a few pictures but I will only put up a few on here. We also took a few belly shots for the shower invite that Staci asked me to provide her and there are a few of those posted as well.

The Alamo

Buckhorn Museum

Horse Drawn Carriage Ride

Tower of the Americas

Sunday morning we headed back home and relaxed for a while. We had gotten home around 2:45 so later that afternoon we decided to put together the changing table/6 drawer dresser. The instructions still were not great but going through the 5 drawer dresser before, it made it a smoother assembly.

Nursery Painting is Complete!

We finally got the guts to put the border up ourselves. We were going to wait for Nick to help us out but we went a head and tried it out ourselves.

It turned out AWESOME!
There are no bubbles or flaws on the border!

I LOVE it and I think the colors we chose for paint were PERFECT!!!
Anyways - we will eventually start moving the furniture in

and I will add pictures of that as we go!

Poor Instructions...

On Saturday we went bass fishing in Lexington. It was so nice to get away from the city and really soak in the tranquility of the country. I really needed this after the rough week I was having – it must have been a combination of work and hormones. We went out to fish around 9:30 AM and stayed out there until about lunch. In that time we caught 7 bass!! It was so much fun! We went to eat lunch, headed back out to fish again until about 3:30 PM. There was no success really that time so we went home and took a nap. I have not taken a nap that good in so long – the sun really wore me out! After the nap we went back out to see if we could catch anymore and no success. Since I knew we would be out there all day I used sunscreen – I don’t’ normally burn but pregnancy can cause your skin to be very weird. Even with sunscreen on I still burned! Thankfully it was just slight and though I felt it for a day or two, it was not nearly as bad as the burn I got in Jamaica and it started the base tan I need for the summer! I even let my belly get some sun – thankfully that didn’t burn, just my shoulders.

When we got home on Sunday we decided to start putting Jace’s 5 drawer dresser together. These instructions were just as bad as the instructions for the bookcase! It took us about 3 hours – with a break in there to cook and eat dinner – but we got it all put together and it is beautiful! As you can see in the picture – there were many pieces to put together but the dresser is very good quality!
Here are my 26 week belly pictures! Only 98 days left to go………

Tomorrow is Baby Moon time........Off to San Antonio!!!
(after my doctor's appointment and GD test)

99 Days and Counting.....

I had to hop on and post that I am down to only 99 days left!!! WOW!!!! Time really is flying by and I just KNOW that these last days will go so fast that I will be dizzy!!

I also had forgotten to add that the photographer we spoke with about maternity and newborn pictures has chosen us for the free birthing session she was giving one pregnant model!! AWESOME! This is not a regular practice yet - however I have looked and researched and more photographers are doing this. I think it's awesome! Its hard to really capture all the emotions in an event like this when dad or some other family member is left to take the pictures but is so wrapped up in all the happenings. It's a blessing to have this offered to us for FREE!! On top of that - I know we are helping her jump start her photography studio and plans.

I will post again tomorrow with my weekly wrap up and belly picture!

Looks Like We Are Having TWINS!!!

This past week was full of shopping - maybe not so much BUYING but I did go out shopping.
Actually, about 7 hours worth of shopping in two consecutive days!
Friday Justin and I went to Academy and Katy Mills Mall. I bought some cheap sneakers from Academy since I was due for some new ones. And at the mall, I wanted to see if I could find maternity shirts on SALE that fit me and Justin wanted to go to Bass Pro Shop. I lucked out and found 2 shirts from Old Navy that were 2 for $20. Other stores I didn't luck out on as much. Justin found what he needed from Bass Pro Shop and after nearly 3 hours we went home!

Saturday morning I had plans to go shopping at the outlet mall will Patti and Lisa. They met at my house at about 10 am and we headed to the outlets at about 11 am. We went into SO many stores, stores that you normally don't get to go in when you have your husband shopping with you! :) They found MANY deals and loved the outlets! No stores there sell maternity clothes so I was there for the socializing! We went to Nine West and I happened to find the CUTEST dress shoes that were so comfy I HAD to get them. To be safe I bought them a ½ size larger so I could wear them while pregnant and afterwards. It’s not often you find heels that are so comfy and don’t appear to have a way of causing blisters and such. After the outlets we head to TJ Maxx and Ross. We all found a few things we liked there and got them! By this time it was way past lunch time so we ate at Chick-fil-a, pit stopped at PetsMart, Lowes and Kroger’s then headed home. We were finished shopping at 3 something!!
So much walking but it was beautiful outside and I guess I can say it was exercise!
Shopping Counts as Exercise, Right?

Yesterday we got a bit of practice babysitting Lincoln and Grant! They are well behaved and some of the best children to babysit!
It was a lot of fun but also tiring. We are so use to going to be early that staying up late really takes a toll on us – but it was worth it to spend the evening with our nephews, and to let the adults go out and have a grown up night (that doesn’t happen often enough for them)!

The rest of our nursery furniture came in today and we picked it up after work!
I can’t wait to unpack it and set it all up in the nursery!
First we need to fix the paint and hang the border! I can’t wait to be able to put away all the tiny precious baby boy clothes!

My 25 week belly pictures - enjoy!
Oh and It is April Fool's Day!
No Twins here - but I had to trick SOMEONE!!
